Cooler Manager

Fast growing wholesale produce distributor and processor. Looking for hardworking, smart, computer savvy individual who coordinates the activities with the shipping/receiving department. Takes charge of all incoming/outgoing product both inside and outside plant. . Complies with the FDA, HACCP, OSHA, government and company policies/regulations to provide a safe and sanitary work environment

Role Responsibilities:

     Must have produce background/experience.

  • Complete warehouse/cooler operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Monitors, on a daily basis, the inventory and codes of all products in the warehouse/cooler to insure proper rotation of all items.
  • Develops and implements lot control
  • Develops and implements in-house tracking of processed items and SHRINK.
  • Maintains warehouse staff performance by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts: reconciling with data storage system
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Monitors attendance, overtime, to insure compliance with company policies.
  • Insure full compliance with all quality assurance standards, as well as company dress code policy, good hygiene, and housekeeping practices
  • Plan direct and coordinate the activities with the shipping/receiving department in order to meet established objectives

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Organizational skills are  imperative to this position
  • HACCP and/or Food Safety Certified a plus
  • Supervise, developing budgets, safety management, developing standards, managing processes, inventory control, reporting skills, analyzing information.
  • Must be able to possess and maintain a valid forklift license issued by the company
  • Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Spanish speaking a plus
  • Ability to add subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • The employee will be required to use all personal protective equipment provided by the company in compliance with OSHA regulations

While performing the duties of the job the employee is required to do the following:

  • Must be able to sit climb, balance, stoop, taste and smell;
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/move 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Must have a full range of motion
  • Must be able to maintain good relations with co-workers;
  • Must maintain professional attitude;
  • Must show courtesy to co-workers, customers, relatives of employees, and others with whom contact occurs

The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, and cold or extreme cold, some toxic chemicals,

Salary is commensurate based on skill and experience.
