Emergency Services Clinician

Thrive is looking a Part-time (20 hours days)  Emergency Sevices Clinician.

Thrive is one of only three nationally Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) in Rhode Island. CCBHCs were created through the “Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Act” as an initiative to expand access to behavioral healthcare in America.

The ideal candidate will be results-driven, team-and detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working on multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented environment. 

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Provide screening and assessment, as well as follow-up to clients in crisis and conduct biopsychosocial assessments on all adult clients. This position is 20 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS: 

  1. Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments on all adult clients.  
  2. Develop initial treatment plans including program disposition and referral for all adults entering Thrive Behavioral Health.
  3. Complete authorization paperwork for referrals to Organization programs as required.
  4. Develop a working knowledge of Thrive programs and services and corresponding eligibility requirements to facilitate efficient and effective disposition of clients based upon assessed need.
  5. Provide or secure appropriate and effective follow up care for all assessed clients.  
  6. Secure required documentation to support referrals to Thrive programs.
  7. Communicate with external referral sources to coordinate care for assessed clients.
  8. Provide consultation to external agencies regarding the programs and services available at Thrive Behavioral Health.
  9. Work collaboratively with Thrive staff and clinicians to facilitate access to care and services.   
  10. Provide crisis intervention and assessment as a member of the emergency services team. 
  11. Provide debriefings at Thrive Behavioral Health and in community as needed.
  12. Provide consultation to community agencies (police, hospital, emergency room, schools).
  13. Perform client record reviews and provide consultation to program managers regarding potential clients.
  14. Complete all required documentation in accordance with Organization policies.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Master’s Degree in the human service field of social work or counseling, PhD in Psychology, PsyD required. At least one year experience in an assessment or screening unit, or emergency services preferred. Minimum (2) year experience working with clients with disabilities preferred. Requires some computer skills and strong customer service skills.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

LCSW with Waiver, LICSW, PsyD, or PhD in Psychology, and QMHP.

Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job.
