Family Support Specialist

As our Family Support Specialist you will teach skills and behavioral techniques to parents and families in the home environment primarily to aid in reunification. Through developing and maintaining effective working relationships with the families you will build on each family’s strengths. You will ensure the safety of the youth during transportation and supervision of visits with their biological family. This includes observing and assessing behaviors of both youth and parent(s) and then guiding or redirecting as needed to create a successful visit. You will regularly assess and monitor individual and family progress in the attainment of predetermined plan goals. Additionally, you will prepare and submit proper documentation regarding visitation plans and recommendations in a timely manner. As our Family Support Specialist you will develop effective working relationships with community services and resources. This position is located in Providence, RI.


To be considered for this unique opportunity you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the Behavioral Sciences or Human Services related fields
  • Two years experience working with children and families is preferred
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, plus ability to provide own transportation to complete travel requirements of the job
  • Must have a valid auto liability insurance policy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well a member of a treatment team
  • Flexibility and willingness to work some evenings and weekends
  • Detail-orientation and strong organizational skills
