Microelectronic Component Processor

IMS is hiring a Microelectronic Component Processor

Position includes handling and inspection of small electronic components in a climate-controlled high tech manufacturing environment. No experience is necessary.

Ideal candidates are able to use microscopes, possess good manual dexterity and are attentive to detail.

 

Shift

Full Time, first shift and Part-time flexible shift hours are available for qualified candidates. Portsmouth, RI headquarters location.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process materials according to pre-set instructions within established quality and time standards and is responsible for accurate data entry.
  • Operate equipment required for processing, cleaning and inspecting electronic components including solder, flux and other fluids.
  • Perform in-line quality inspections as required.
  • Follow proper ISO and company practices and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Record accurate data.
  • Contribute to the success of the team by submitting improvement ideas, identifying potential problems, providing feedback on new methods or method changes, and displaying a positive, cooperative attitude in working with others.
  • Adhere to safety policies.
  • Individual must be willing to cross train in other areas and perform in those areas when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED minimum preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle small components under magnification.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions.

 

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Experience or desire to work with small components under magnification is preferred.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Manufacturing environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

The employee is primarily required to sit or stand at workstations. The employee must lift and or move up to 10 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and cleaning chemicals like isopropyl alcohol. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
