Sales Applications Engineer

Job Title: Sales Applications Engineer

 

General Responsibilities:

 

A)  Primary Responsibility: To work in conjunction with the Sr. Manager of Sales and Marketing and the Regional Sales Managers to provide Applications Engineering Support for Passive Components Engineering requests and designs. This includes all company products including but not limited to resistive components and all RF passive component designs.

 

B)  To work closely and in harmony with Manufacturing Engineering to create designs within the company’s manufacturing capabilities so to blend and maximize the company’s core capabilities toward solving customer problems and supporting profitable opportunities.

 

C)  To understand the company’s quality requirements and coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure that all designs, requests and other requirements conform to established quality standards.

 

Work elements include:

1.Together with company management and the sales director, participate in the establishment of new product lines according to evolving customer demands, creating solutions that effectively meet performance requirements while meeting the company’s capabilities, delivery and competitive pricing goals.

2.Support field sales network as requested by Senior Manager of Sales & Marketing, including telephone and face-to-face contact with representatives, customers and strategic market contacts.

3.Respond directly to tech-support requests and questions that come into IMS by customers from Sales referral, online, telephone, email, fax or by referral from others at IMS. 

4.Establish training for Sales Managers, and field sales network as requested by sales director or otherwise required. This includes sales coordinated customer visits.  

5.Initiate and maintain key official and engineering contacts within relevant industry organizations and companies, negotiating critical issues that directly advance the company’s growth and progress.  

6.Participate with Sales and Manufacturing Engineering and confer with Quality Assurance, and Materials, in order to improve and develop quality standards, certifications and plans for products shipped to customers, as required.  

7.Cooperate with Quality Assurance as required to assist with root cause analysis, feedback analyses and make recommendations for corrective actions as required.  

8.Author, edit and publish various articles for consumption in trade magazines, professional and scientific journals, etc.

9.Create application notes as needed.

 

Organizational Responsibilities:  

The Sales Applications Engineer will report directly to the Senior Manager of Sales & Marketing and coordinate closely with Manufacturing Engineering as requested.

 

Job Requirements

Experience Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years experience in Electronics Components Applications Engineering with preference for experience with resistive passive components as well as experience in Applications Engineering DC and RF Electronic Components desired.

 

Additional General Requirements:

Technical knowledge of electronics and passive components in particular

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.

Travel required approximately 20-30% of the time.

 

 

Education Requirements:

As a Minimum – to possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering which includes background in Passive components, including DC, and RF high frequency component/circuit design.
