The hiring company is a leading Supply Chain Management service provider, operating in a dynamic, global environment.  Speed to execution, agility & flexibility and leadership to carry out the company’s Strategic Plan are critical elements for success.  Headquartered in Northern Rhode Island, the company has a full time open position reporting directly to the President. The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for managing the sales of the company’s products and services, developing new business and strategic partnerships, all capture and proposal efforts, guiding all marketing, communications and public relations activities. The incumbent will ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment and management of sales personnel. Identifies objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings. This Manager will collaborate with their team and Executive Management in establishing and recommending realistic sales goals for the company while managing resources to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives.  The incumbent is also responsible for establishing and managing effective programs to compensate, coach, appraise and train sales personnel and maintain key corporate relationships with new and existing accounts. The Sales and Marketing Manager directs and motivates their staff to carry out the company’s strategies and initiatives while focusing their activities to achieve near, mid and long-term corporate goals and support the key performance indicators of the Company. The work of this position requires extensive domestic and international travel (approximately 50%).

Experience Required

Bachelor degree in a business-related field with a minimum 5 years progressively responsible job-related experience in a 3PL, supply chain or logistics field.

Commercial based experience in selling a solutions-based and/or services environment.

Record of identifying, creating, developing, qualifying, and winning new business opportunities from business development and capture through proposal with experience in developing account plans and project schedules;

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and excellent interpersonal skills;

Strong technology and presentation skills, including experience using MS Office products, MS Project (or equivalent), mobile technology, web browsers and other technology resources;

Must have strong leadership skills, including an ability to lead an internal team through long-term sales cycles of 6-24 months and an ability to plan and execute a winning effort.

Ability to understand customer needs and objectives from programmatic, financial, organizational, and technical perspectives.

Ability to develop solutions through collaboration with internal staff and teams that resonate with leadership and customers.
