TOWN OF CUMBERLAND: Employment Opportunity. Town Planner, Start Date: Immediately. The Town Planner works under the Director of Planning and Community Development. A qualified candidate's main focus will be preparing grant applications to state and federal agencies, and management of awarded grants. In addition, the candidate will assist with and/or coordinate individual projects implemented by the director of planning and community development and/or the Mayor. Additional responsibilities include assisting with zoning and commercial development plan review, subdivision review, historic district zoning. Attendance at night meetings is required at times. The candidate must possess skills to work independently and take initiative of pending matters. In order to be considered, the candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Public Administration, Urban Studies or related field and four years of experience in municipal Planning, or a related field; Master's Degree in planning and A.I.C.P. certification desirable; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The salary for this position is $47,338. and includes excellent benefits.
