Job Title: Packer II –  2^nd Shift and 3^rd Shift (1 position each)

Purpose:

To provide and perform handling and packer activities that meet customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform individual handling / packaging activities as instructed by supervisor to meet customer requirements.
• Responsible for adhering to policies and procedures related to customer requirements.
• Requires the ability to understand specific directions, follow guidelines that are common throughout the department.
• Utilize specific equipment as necessary and related to the job responsibilities.
• New training will occur when necessary.

 

Competencies:

• Specific competencies include but are not limited to: gowning procedure, product conformity, use of pin gages, calipers and TAPPI Chart, visual inspection and feel testing techniques, bagging and product labeling.
• Ability to understand specific directions, follow work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a constant focus on quality and accuracy.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time; walk; sit; bend and reach.  Requires finger dexterity and visual acuity.
• High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. 
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Work with minimum supervision.
