MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
As seen in The Westerly SunMaintenance Mechanic A growing manufacturer of extruded plastics has an opening for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic, who will maintain and repair all types of industrial equipment efficiently, professionally and in the safest means possible. The successful candidate will have experience in trades such as welding, PLC controls, electrical, plumbing and metal fabrication, as well as maintenance shop equipment operation to successfully complete assigned tasks and troubleshoot equipment issues. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform inspections and overhauls on production and process equipment. This includes gearboxes, pumps, air/hydraulic cylinders, heated/cooled process rolls, steam ovens, steam systems, film converting equipment, utilities equipment such as air compressors, steam boilers, water chillers, HVAC, convey systems, and packing equipment. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to: Operating shop equipment including a lathe, milling machine, drill press, pipe threader, band saw, sheet metal shear, handbrake and rollers. Performing basic welding repairs using Tig, stick, Mig (not code). Installing, replacing and repairing pipe jobs using screw and weld fittings. Assist with planning and scheduling of work during plant shutdowns to include collaborating with planners and vendors when necessary. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and overhauls on production and process equipment. Competitive wage & benefit package offered.
