HR ASSISTANT

HR and RISK ASSISTANT Our RI based client has an immediate need for a temp to direct opportunity, please review the full job description and forward your cover letter and resume to scott@ritemps.com or call 401-781-8400 Monday Friday $16-$18 per hour JOB PURPOSE Ensures daily operations within the human resources and risk department are complete by following existing policies and procedures thereby resulting in maximum satisfaction and fully supported internal and external customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REGULATIONS Facilitate recruiting, onboarding and conduct new hire orientation. Receive and track employment applications. Process new hire referral forms; respond to eligible employees; track potential awards; notify Payroll of awards that are due. Track and process Anniversary Awards. Process documentation and order drug and background checks. Maintain employee HR file compliance. Update HRIS with changes to employee records. Process various legal, insurance, safety and security documents and assist with such matters. Track and upload all agreements to the HR and contract databases. Chair the Safety Team and be knowledgeable of HIPPA, OSHA and safety standards and reporting. Organize and carryout emergency drills. Keep HR and Risk Manager informed of activities and of any problems. Assist with matters of insurance claims, coverage requirements and COIs. Retrieve/prepare supporting documentation for insurance claims. Respond to employee inquiries regarding the interpretation of employee handbook, policies, procedures, benefits and general questions. Maintain company bulletin board ensuring compliance with required legal postings. Generate check requests for departmental bills and invoices. Perform Human Resource Department filing, copying and scanning as needed. Generate and follow up on security and facilities maintenance as needed. Book meeting rooms, audio visual and catering requests as needed for HR Department. Assist with company meetings and benefits orientations as needed. JOB HOLDER REQUIREMENTS 1. Associates Degree; and two plus years of HR experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources principles, practices and procedures. 3. Knowledgeable of state and federal employment laws. 4. Possess exceptional Microsoft Office computer skills; SAP and ADP Workforce/HRIS a plus. 5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external contacts. 6. Must pay particular attention to details and maintaining the strictest confidentiality. 7. Problem-solving ability. 8. Conflict resolution capabilities. 9. Must keep well organized records and notes. 10. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously under tight deadlines. 11. Must be able and willing to drive, as the duties and business needs dictate.
