JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Control Technician will assist the Quality Assurance Supervisor with the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS). S/he will also be responsible for monitoring and enforcing all GMP s and SSOP s throughout the production facility. S/he will be responsible for controlling the raw material program and releasing acceptable
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The Quality Control Technician will:
Ensure that all of the systems in the QMS program are being followed
Follow ISO 22000:2005, 21 CFR 110, R 23-1 21-27, Food Code State of Rhode Island regulations and help to maintain a FSSC 22000:2010 certification
Follow ISO/TS 22001-1 prerequisite programs
Peer review to confirm that all the documentation is recorded correctly (including lab results and receiving paperwork)
Assist in GMP trainings for contractors and visitors
Conduct GMP inspections throughout the facility and communicate findings to staff
Conduct chemical inventory and place orders as needed
Solve quality issues on the production floor when they arise
Assist employees with our production/traceability software program by knowing how to:
o Receive products
o Conduct traceability and recall
Other QA tasks and production-support tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S or A.S in Food Science or Food Technology, or a related field with 1+ years of quality control experience within a food-manufacturing environment
Experience with food safety regulations such as HACCP, ISO 22000:2005, FSSC 2200:2010, GMP s, SSOP programs preferred
Must have good communication, strong computer skills, audit experience, organizational skills and an ability to work collaboratively with all departments
Must have good, safe laboratory practices
