Assistant Project Manager/Estimator

 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist Project Managers and Estimating Department in all parts of a project from inception to completion.
  • Research and Procure bid opportunities, Coordinate and ensure smooth operation of multiple projects from start to finish
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with clients to ensure complete customer satisfaction, successful project closeout and opportunities for future business, Track and assist in process of daily job reports and change order management and execution
  • Prepare and present to the manager weekly reports of project operations, Collect data, analyze it, and help project managers to set objectives for a project, Preparation of Project Manuals, Submittals and logs, Ensure changes in project plan are communicated to team members
  • Fill in for project managers by managing daily operations in their absence, Ensure project team members comply with company methodologies and project principles, Respect decision-making boundaries and know when to call the attention of the manager
  • Process daily project documentation, work orders, subcontracts, certificates of insurance and purchase orders.
  • Read, understand and interpret drawings, specifications and contract documents.
  • Estimating and quantity takeoff experience is preferred
  • Assist in project scheduling and allocation of company resources to promote safety and production on projects

 

 

Requirements – Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:

 

 

Education and Training:

  • High School Diploma is required, but an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in project management is preferred
  • Knowledge of office software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Project is also necessary

 

Administrative Skill:

  • Must have the skill to handle client calls, document project operations, and to ensure vital information is passed across to team members
  • Leadership Skill: Must be able to manage daily project operations in the absence of a project manager
  • Multitasking Skill: Must be able to monitor the progress of multiple projects.
  • Must be a team player
