Williams-Mystic Program

The college is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Assistant Director of Admissions/Director of Enrollment for Williams-Mystic. This is a full-time, year-round, regular appointment reporting to the Williams-Mystic Executive Director. The Assistant Director of Admission/Director of Enrollment participates in all aspects of the admission and financial aid process, including: meeting with prospective students; leading public presentations; recruitment travel; reviewing and evaluating applications for admission; serving as a full-voting member of the Admission Committee; working with colleges and universities on transferable financial aid, and working with current students, staff, faculty, and alumni to organize and facilitate recruitment events both on and off campus. This individual will also manage the Financial Aid grants and scholarships for students admitted to the program.

Responsibilities
To fulfill its mission, Williams-Mystic exists to empower global, creative citizens while cultivating an enduring relationship with the sea. The Assistant Director will help to create an open-minded, interdisciplinary academic community through experiential learning at the Mystic Seaport, along the coasts of America, and on the ocean. The Assistant Director is a key member of the staff community who will help to build this diverse group.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, and two to four years of experience in higher education, a secondary school or other relevant educational setting is preferred
  • Familiarity with the nature and aims of a selective liberal arts college and study away programs
  • Strong organizational skills, and exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods
  • Enthusiasm for interacting with students and families from a wide range of backgrounds is essential
  • Significant travel and some evening and weekend responsibilities are required
  • A valid driver's license is also required
