Regional Sales Manager

Actual Job Title:     Regional Sales Manager

General Responsibilities:

The Regional Sales Manager will have ownership of performing a wide variety of tasks to include, but not limited to, working across and cooperatively with IMS supporting departments.  Responsible for managing and directing all consultative, value-added technical sales activities to increase sales and implement strategic corporate directives within the specified geographical region.

Responsibility for managing, guiding and collectively working with IMS, Inside Sales Administrators and assigned manufacturer rep organizations. 

The Regional Sales Manager will achieve regional technical sales operational objectives by cooperatively training, strategizing, supporting and facilitating Rep technical sales activities; contributing regional sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews: preparing and completing action plans: implementing production, productivity quality, and customer service standards: resolving problems (commercial and technical): completing audits: identifying trends: determining regional sales system improvements and implementing change that result in double digit revenue growth. 

 

 Work elements include:

  1. Hire, train, motivate and retain manufacturer representative organization in assigned territory in the delivery of a consultative, value added technical sell.
  2. Present manufacturer rep organization with annual budget
  3. Establish and maintain effective relationships with outside sales resources and strategic accounts through coaching and leadership skills
  4. Stay up to date on SMD technology trends to report to IMS management
  5. Provide active ‘Hand-on”  guidance, coaching and mentoring for Inside Sales Administrators
  6. Identify high potential target account as well as “at risk” accounts to execute action plan, as driven by strategically pertinent commercial and technical drivers.
  7. Use IMS, ERP (MRP/MES/CRM) systems, with specific attention to those that provide sales tools. 
  8. Work directly, cooperatively and across all IMS supporting departments and sales resources.
  9. Work collectively with Applications Engineer Manager to ensure customer requirement are achieved as well as use AEM knowledge base in successfully closing and identifying (NBO’s) new business opportunities. 
  10. Track and monitor customer sample request/quotes and maintain monthly reporting schedule.
  11. Maintain weekly and consistent direct communication with Senior Manager of Sales & Marketing to share and discuss appropriate account activity and the execution of best practice sales strategy.      

 

Organizational Responsibilities:  

 

  1. Identify Target Accounts and generate strategically appropriate (NBO’s) New Business Opportunities
  2. Manage and direct technical sales strategy with IMS assigned Manufacturer Rep Organizations
  3. Technical Knowledge of SMD electronic components
  4. Excellent interpersonal and sales skills required
  5. Comply with ISO requirements.
  6. Comply with IMS procedures and policies.
  7. Complete all duties as assigned.
  8. Ability to travel 40 – 50 %
