Operations Manager

Polaris MEP, a division of the URI Research Foundation and funded by NIST (National Institute of Standards & Technology) guides RI manufacturers to sustainable growth, innovative technology strategies and cost efficient operations. Polaris is looking to hire an Operations Manager to support recent center growth.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development. The candidate must possess sound judgment and creative problem solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Operations Manager
REPORTS TO: Polaris MEP Center Director

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management and coordination of the Department of Commerce, NIST cooperative agreement to ensure deadlines and grant reporting requirements are completed by appropriate personnel.
  • Create and utilize standardized procedures for data input into Salesforce database.
  • Manage and perform project lifecycle activities.
  • Identify and manage process improvements of center operations including IT systems and reporting.
  • Manage activities related to Salesforce optimization.
  • Identify and manage metrics required for federal, state and center operations.
  • Manage center events scheduling and logistics.
  • Support the organization’s marketing and collateral materials and the company’s web site and monthly newsletter.
  • Support management of marketing, outreach, workshops and events for a cohesive outreach effort.
  • Support management of the Center’s Salesforce database.
  • Oversee quarterly reporting requirements for NIST and budgetary oversight.
  • Provide support for the center’s hr functions and benefits.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years experience with internal business operations and external client interactions utilizing contractual engagement.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, but independently drive for results.
  • Minimum five years of increasing responsibility with running operations of a consulting, non-profit or sales organization.
  • Experience with strategic and operations planning.
  • Strong management and organization skills, and the ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to effectively interface with staff, boards of directors, and financial auditors.
  • Salesforce experience is a plus but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or related degree.
