Family Practice Physician/Clinic Director: Full time position - Narragansett Indian Health Center (NIHC) has an IMMEDIATE M-F opening for a full-time RI licensed M.D. or D.O., from a school in the US or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicant's graduation. [A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).] Must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine, preferebly RI licensed. Will accept applications from physicians not currently licensed; however, if selected for appointment, must obtain a license before entering on duty. Prefer Board Certified Family Practice. Must have DEA number. Must maintain appropriate Board Certification. Knowlege of history, culture, and health needs of Native American communities preferred. Must possess the ability to work independently, perform administrative functions as assigned by the Director and such other administrative functions assigned in the operation of NIHC, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to handle conflict and crisis in a professional manner, computer literacy, EHR experienced, valid driver's license.
