Boys Town New England is seeking a Director of Community Support Services based in Providence, Rhode Island. As our Director of Community Support Services you will oversee the integration, design, management, and implementation of Community Support Services. This position also oversees program functions including marketing, reviewing, and reporting of funding standards.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, OR SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Health Education, or a related field; Master's degree may be required by contract.

3 to 5 years of progressive experience working with children and families including advanced level management and supervisory experience; social work experience in a public or private organization working with a diverse population of individuals having co-occurring diagnoses.

Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record, plus the ability to provide own transportation (mileage reimbursed) to complete travel requirements of the job. Must meet auto insurance requirements established by Boys Town policy and/or State and Local laws.

OVERVIEW OF JOB

The Awake Overnight Program Staff provides a safe environment through effective monitoring of the youth and the physical property during overnight hours. Works collaboratively with administration in coordinating, prioritizing, and completing duties and consistently adheres to the Youth Rights. Maintains a communications network and harmonious working relationship with program staff. Documents objective observations of overnight youth activity; records, updates and enters significant information and incidents in required format. Carries out assigned tasks, within the scope of training and abilities as directed by the supervisor. Notifies appropriate personnel immediately in the incident of a safety issue or a behavioral incident by one of the children in care. Monitors youth constantly by remaining awake and alert, and circulating between various locations. Attends to youth medical and physical conditions through monitoring and notifying appropriate staff when necessary. Attends staff meetings and training sessions outside of scheduled working hours. Recognizes and prompts youth on appropriate behaviors and skills. Utilizes Boys Town vehicle to transport youth as needed.

As a Clinical Supervisor in Looking Upwards Inc, Home Based Therapeutic Services, you will be responsible for individualized treatment plans to help children improve developmental and behavioral skills in partnership with their families.

With Looking Upwards PASS and HBTS programs, you'll work in a supportive environment with a qualified team of licensed social workers, licensed mental health counselors, treatment coordinators, developmental specialists, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists who are always willing to answer specific questions or collaborate for treatment consultation. Responsibilities

* Participate in intake of new client families, as well as in initial assessments and annual evaluations of children and families to contribute to the development of an HBTS/PASS Treatment Plan.

* Provide home visits to assigned caseload, for purposes of staff supervision, parent training and support, and monitoring the implementation of the HBTS/PASS treatment plan. Families are located throughout RI.

* For HBTS, provide clinical training to direct service staff and ongoing in home supervision of staff on a bi-monthly basis to ensure proper implementation of treatment interventions.

* For HBTS, model techniques for staff and/or work directly with a child receiving services.

* Address clinical issues and challenging behaviors including a functional behavioral analysis for providing direction to the home based worker.

* Provide some minimal case management and referral services to assigned caseload, including participation in interagency case conferences

* For HBTS, provide clinical supervision during social skills groups.

* Complete all necessary paperwork, including supervision progress notes, narrative reports of assessments, progress reports, treatment plans and discharge summaries

* Maintain appropriate communication with physicians, clinics, and community agencies participating in each child's care.

* Collaborate as a transdisciplinary team member for program planning and delivery of services, including treatment consultations, as well as attending in- service trainings, team meetings, professional development, and group and individual supervision

* Evening availability required. Most shifts are between the hours of 3:00pm-7:00pm.

* Maintain compliance with all Looking Upwards policies, safety and medical standards, procedures, and EOHHS HBTS/PASS Certification Standards.

These positions are located in Newport, Middletown, Portsmouth, Tiverton, Bristol, Warren, West Greenwich, Smithfield, Jamestown, West Warwick, Westerly, Hopkinton, Wakefield, Richmond, West Kingston & Wyoming. Flexibility for scheduling purposes a must. Starting rate is $11.12 per hour.

PASS and HBTS Services

We provide home based services to children with special needs and/or intensive behavior needs. Staff are hired to provide one on one support to a child for anywhere between 6-20 hours per week. We provide clinical supervision and on-site training.

This is an amazing opportunity if you are looking to gain valuable hands-on experience working closely with a child, family, clinician and coordinator.

These positions are currently available in the Newport County, Northern RI, East Bay, South County, and the Providence area. All positions are after school hours. A typical shift is 3:30-6:30 or 4:00-7:00 and most children have 3-4 shifts per week available.

HBTS rate of pay starts at $13/hr with possible increases to $13.30 at 6 months and $13.60 at 1 year.

PASS rates of pay range from $10-$12.73/hr depending on education and experience.

Paid internships are also available.

Previous experience working with children is preferred. Previous experience working with children or adults with special needs is a plus.

Candidates must have a minimum of a High School Diploma, a valid driver's license, auto liability insurance, a safe driving record and access to a dependable vehicle required. Prior to employment, successful candidate must also pass BCI background check and driving record check.

- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.

- Ability to maintain a database and monthly notes

- Ability to work varied hours to meet the needs of the program

- Ability to travel within Rhode Island

- A valid driver's license, a good driving record, and proof of current auto insurance.
